Party of Five House, Estate of the Day

If the front of this house looks familiar you might be flashing back to the 1990s television show "Party of Five." Charlie, Bailey, Julia and the rest of the Salinger clan lived in this 19th Century mansion in San Francisco. This house on a hill has stunning Golden Gate and Bay views from multiple levels. There are seven bedrooms total. The main level has a reception foyer with 12 foot box-beamed ceilings, stained glass windows and a grand main staircase leading to the upper levels. The main level also features a large living room, formal dining room and an open kitchen and great room with a greenhouse solarium that leads out to the garden. Upstairs the master bedroom suite has his and hers master baths and dressing areas and a home office with wet bar. The top level of this home has a large media/game room with cathedral ceilings, a wet bar with refrigerator and an abundance of skylights and windows. On the lower level there is a garage and storage room. This home is listed at $7.2 million.

If you need to borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbor, just knock on the window, he'll hand it to ya.

This home is both stunning and charming. If you're a city person, and like steps, it's perfect! I must admit though, I'm a country person. So If I had 7 mill to spend, I'd rather buy a lakefront home on about 20 acres of land in the mountains.

Beautiful home if you're a city person who doesn't mind alot of steps! lol I'd rather spend 7 million on a lakefront home in the mountains with about 20 acres of property between me and my neighbors.

You could buy this house in Kansas City for $400K. Nice house but $7M? No wonder the market has tanked! Stupid sheeple!
Krys Nov 3rd 2009 12:09AM
yeah, but then you have to live in Kansas City.
ballet Nov 3rd 2009 1:53AM
that's rude, there is nothing wrong with KC!
Even here in Dallas that house would not cost $7 mil. As BEAUTIFUL as if is, that price is ridiculous!

Seven million for a single family home on a tiny lot sounds crazy, but somebody will buy it. San Franciso if full of looney idiots. After all, those cretins in San Francisco are the nut-jobs that elected that tool Nancy Pelosi.
Cindi Nov 3rd 2009 5:59AM
Amen! Such a pretty city to be SO full of nutcases!

The worst people in the world are the ones that think they are better than other people because of where they live.Only a real scum bag feels that way.

The real scum of the earth are people that feel they are better than others because of where they live.

San Francisco is a beautiful place and yes the house is expensive compared to other markets but you are living in a city with tons to offer. No you wouldnt pay that much in Dallas or KC but you get what you pay for. and for that person who commented that San Francisco is full of nut jobs. Dont be afraid of what you dont know. You obviously come from a place of negativity. Have you ever been to SF? probably not
Lynn Nov 3rd 2009 4:19AM
No I have never been to SF, would love to some day. But that much money is not in the average person's zone to buy. Infact it is not in the above average persons zone ! lol
I know people who make 7 million a yr and it not in their zone! lol
Its pretty.. I don't like the fact that the neighbor is within feet of the dwelling, for that amt of money.
The views are beautiful.. because of what they are. But for 7 mill I wouldn't call that an estate.. its a condo. lol Nice but a condo.
If someone would like to purchase it for me.. I'd be happy to have it though.
And from what I hear.. those photo's must have been taken on a clear day.. cause SF is suppose to be smog city ?
Nice thanks for the look

What is being forgotten is that people who can afford a home priced like this work hard.. and often. This is an ideal home for someone like this, no yard to maintain, the ultimate relaxation in the city for when you do take a few hours break, great views, access to everything you need within minutes (who has time if you're that busy). City life can be amazing, busy life is a rush - in a good way...
